Most children in Bertie County attend the Bertie County Public Schools. Besides public education, others attend private schools or charter schools.
A small handful of local parents prefer homeschooling.
Beyond high school, the North Carolina Community College System provides two nearby community colleges—Martin County Community College (with an in-county campus in Windsor) and Roanoke-Chowan Community College, near Hertford County.
