Happy Thanksgiving from Bertie News!
When had this idea of a digital newsletter for Bertie County last summer, we had no idea you all would welcome us so warmly.
In just a few months we have gone from a business plan on paper to a full-scale digital news site with a loyal (and growing!) daily following. Besides our daily “English readers,” we also have almost three dozen Spanish speakers using the translation services almost every day. ¡Muchas gracias!
So thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The mere fact that you all are reading the articles, giving us social media likes and shares, and supporting our efforts in many small ways means the world to us.
Moving forward, we plan to continue to expand the number of articles per week. Plus, we plan on filling our YouTube channel (coming soon) with local event coverage.
Our commitment is to continue to bring you information and community stories that focus on the solutions instead of the problems. In fact, every story we publish must meet specific standards:
Finally, we will stand by our mission statement:
Bertie News is a purpose-driven newsletter with the goal of connecting Bertie County residents to unbiased information and resources to build a more robust community for all.
Where we plan to go from here…
We will also continue to raise awareness of the digital divide in Bertie County and deliver our content without paywalls. Indeed, we have not wavered from our commitment to the idea that relevant local information belongs to all of us. Engaged citizens are the building blocks of any community. And so we will not stop searching out all the “good news” that’s happening all around Bertie County.
Of course, we are grateful for our family, friends, a warm home, and our good health. But it was worth taking time to express thanks to all our readers. To God be the Glory!
Happy Thanksgiving, and once again, heartfelt thanks to all of our friends, family, and supporters.
